Cafe Fourteen in Palatine

Decided to try Cafe 14 based on a Chicago Tribune recommendation. It's your typical Greek style restaurant. Friendly staff. Service was great. Food was fare. I can say I've been there and I don't necessarily need to go back.

Food is good comfort food with a nice variety of dishes. The staff and management are always friendly and welcoming. They have good breakfast specials at $6.99.

Great American diner food. Good variety of food. Plenty of seating and service is very quick. They don't try to rush you out either. Owner is very nice. I recommend any of the skillets. If you're looking for great breakfast food stop by.

Delicious family owned place for breakfast and lunch. We've ordered out several times now during the pandemic and have enjoyed it every time. I usually get two lunches out of one sandwich because of the size and all that comes with it. The breakfast presentation is amazing even to-go. For a little spice, definitely try the chilaquiles.If you're looking for a fun (and tasty) way to freshen things up and support a local business, check this place out!

For my son's birthday he wanted pancakes, and well during quarantine our options were limited. Searching delivery apps I came across Cafe Fourteen and could not have been more pleased. The portions are generous and delicious. You will not be disappointed.

It is the most delicious meal we have when going out. Prices are comparable. John, owner, is the friendliest , warmest, person you'll meet.

Quick service since the restaurant was fairly slow when we dined. Avocado toast was surprisingly large and tasty! I liked the wide variety of options on their menu, lots of classics to choose from.

Breakfast was delicious! I got the steak skillet and my wife got the hungry man skillet. Both were cooked very well and I left very full. We also got the biscuits and gravy which were awesome. Overall great experience.

I stopped here for breakfast and was very pleased. It's one of those little Greek owned diners where they give you so much food for the money! I had the Denver Omelet special for 5.99 and was so full by the time I left I could have used a chauffeur to drive me home. Clean and fast Five Stars.

Very tasty traditional cafe food served by friendly, professional servers. Owner knows his customers and greets you personally. It's the 'Cheers' of Palatine. Everybody knows your name!

I host a breakfast business meeting at Cafe 14 about once a month. Good food and service. My people load up and have big breakfasts. This place puts all in good mood.

This restaurant is full of wonderful memories ever since I came there a small child 20 years ago. Not only the breakfast is amazing but the entire restaurant's atmosphere is always filled with joy and laughters that turns into a pleasant dining experience. The restaurant owner, John, each and every time would immediately recognize me and my family with such a warm welcome right as we come inside, even in the midst of a line of people. John never changed of how he's always full of life, joy, and care especially how he's talking with every customer. Definitely come here if you have the chance! You won't regret it!

Very disappointed that they cannot follow order instructions. I ordered a skillet and asked for no onions but there were onions. I'm allergic to them so this could've ended very badly. If you can't get a simple order request correct, get out of the restaurant business !! And this was ordered through Uber eats so my issue cannot be resolved.

Wow!! The Omlet was amazing. The eggs actually had flavor. We have been to our local Greek Restaurant many times. I've noticed the eggs had no flavor. I kept adding Salsa or hot sauce to get some flavor. Still no flavor to the eggs. Cafe 14's eggs had great flavor! What ever they are doing, keep doing it! This is the first time in many years that the eggs tasted like the eggs I grew up with. I can't wait to take friends there. Thank you Cafe 14. Keep it up. I highly recommend Cafe 14. You won't be disappointed. ; )

The Chicago Tribune wrote them up glowingly and the news clipping is on their wall. It can be very crowded on Sunday mornings, especially like Father's or Mother's Day, but the food is very well prepared. My favorite is the talapia with steamed broccoli and a very fresh garden salad with creamy garlic dressing. Yum yum!

We tried this place for somewhere new to eat breakfast with our group of friends. We were not disappointed. Atmosphere was great. Service was too notch and the food tasted really good. Variety on the menu was satisfactory and pricing was just about right. It was not too busy when we went on a Saturday morning. Place is easy to spot from the road. We will definitely be going back to this place for many more breakfast mornings with our friends.

Great location with big portioned food and very good quality!! The customer services was amazing with us being greeted by the owner as we walked in just like most of the other people. The owner knew everyone's name and had a very warm greetings for literally everyone! The owner is named John and he and the other people within the restaurant are great at what they do!

I stopped here because there were a lot of cars in the parking lot. I was greeted with a smile and they sat me right away in a booth. Rosa started pouring my coffee right away and took the time to welcome me. I ordered the Denver Omelet special and the food came out fast. Great food and very friendly atmosphere. I will definitely come back.

The Owner Johnny is the life of this place. Always happy and inviting. The food the service is great. You can't go wrong at Cafe 14
